Hand finishes and patinations

Each Lascombe Hill piece is hand finished with care using traditional techniques. For this reason finishes may vary slightly. Natural variation occurs in wood and leather.

General

Each piece in our collection is handmade to order in England by master craftsmen using the best materials and finishes. Please note the following to ensure the long-term beauty and longevity of the furniture.

Painted and ebonised furniture care

Lascombe Hill strongly advise the use of mats and coasters to protect surfaces at ALL times and any spills must be cleared as soon as they happen. Surfaces may be wiped down with a damp cloth but must then be dried thoroughly straight away. Surfaces may be dusted with a soft, dry cloth and ebonised furniture polished (only when needed) with dark furniture wax. Direct sunlight will affect finishes over time.

Repairs such as dents and scratches would need to be undertaken by a professional.

Wood furniture care

Clean only with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Solvents should not be used. Protect wood from direct contact with metal vessels, heat, liquid and abrasive surfaces. Wood will be affected by wet or damp conditions. Wood will be affected by heat. Do not place furniture next to a radiator, as this could cause the wood to warp. We reserve the right to request images or inspect and remedy on site any reported issues in compliance with your statutory rights.

Upholstery care & fire retardancy

Lascombe Hill pieces are traditionally upholstered using natural fibres unless otherwise specified. Pure down & feather cushions do require plumping up to keep feathers fluffy and light inside and will also help extend the lifespan of a piece. Please contact your fabric supplier for specific upholstery cleaning instructions All Lascombe Hill pieces are upholstered with internal fillings that have been appropriately treated and flame proofed to comply with fire regulations for the domestic environment. If you are using your own fabrics for covering you may wish to consult your fabric supplier for information on fire retardancy and flame proofing.
